The Male Gender (TMG) is a non-profit network with a five-year plan to: Return 500 out-of-school boys in Africa back to classrooms Empower 300 underrepresented teenage boys in the UK with SMAT skills Directly impact 1,000 men globally through webinars and events We’re building a future where boys and men can thrive, access opportunities, and create prosperous, safe societies.
Through education, mentorship, and empowerment, TMG supports:
Vulnerable boys returning to school
Teenagers gaining 21st-century skills
Men building strong communities of growth, healing, and advocacy
Education support: We believe every boy deserves the chance to learn. Through scholarships, tuition aid, and mentorship, we help vulnerable and out-of-school boys return to classrooms, gain confidence in their studies, and build a strong foundation for brighter futures.
Skill development: For teenage boys, we provide practical, 21st-century training that equips them with SMAT (Science, Media, Arts, and Technology) skills. These workshops and programs prepare them not just for careers, but also for leadership, innovation, and resilience in a changing world.
Global connection: We create safe spaces for men across the globe to come together through webinars, conferences, and community gatherings. These events provide opportunities to share experiences, learn from one another, find healing, and build networks of support that extend far beyond borders.
Out-of-school boys needing educational support
Teenage boys seeking empowerment and SMAT skills
Adult men striving for emotional well-being, opportunities, and advocacy
Growing up, I saw firsthand the challenges that boys face, from lack of access to education to limited opportunities for growth to the silence around their emotional struggles. Many boys, especially in underserved communities, are left behind simply because there is no one to speak for them. That reality shaped me, and it fueled my passion to create change.
As a mother, one of my greatest fears was watching my son fall behind in school because we could not afford the right support. He began to lose confidence in himself, and I worried about the kind of future he would have. When The Male Gender stepped in, everything changed.Â
I joined The Male Gender at a time when I felt invisible. As a teenager, I didn’t have the resources, mentorship, or direction I needed to dream bigger. Through their programs, I was introduced to technology, leadership, and the importance of believing in myself. The mentorship I received and the skills I learned gave me the foundation to pursue a career in tech.
